Click the “Auroras” tab to see where other users have spotted and reported visible Northern Lights. Check the details like date, time, colors and shapes. The “Places” tab shows the top Aurora viewing spots near you, with info on accessibility, light pollution levels and tips from fellow skywatchers. The “Photos” tab lets you see where striking Aurora pictures were taken. Use the filters to find specific Auroras, places or photos.

The app also provides the possibility to share the best places to see Aurora Borealis in Kamloops. Each shared location shows information about the level of light pollution, access difficulty, navigation via 3rd party apps, location photo and description.

1. Take a photo of the northern view.
2. Open the Lumyros app and open the interactive map, click on places, and click on the button "Add Location".
3. Upload the photo you just took.
4. Describe how it looks there, how to get there, why is this place great for Aurora viewing and any additional information you think might be important.
5. Select how difficult it is to get there and how much light pollution is around you.
6. Click "Submit".
The app will add the new place to the interactive map and the social feed. Please Note: When adding a new location, do that, when you are actually there as when you hit the "Submit" button your current GPS location will be applied to the new place. This is to ensure that you are sharing a place you have actually been.
